1968 Mustang GT/CS (California Special) Coupe

When the Mustang hit the market, they were an instant hit in the mid 1960's, and particularly in California. Because it was such a strong market, CA Ford dealers wanted their own version, and Ford, eager to exploit this market agreed, and the Mustang GT/CS or California Special was born!

Taking several visual cues from the popular Shelby versions, the early cars in the run (first 60) were hand built by Shelby consultants to assist the Ford plant in San Jose, CA in "tooling up" for the production.

Roughly 4,000 were made, and this is one of the hand built models, built by the Shelby group and Ford. This is number 56. It has a Dealer installed (Aftermarket) A/C This is a fun car, that really turns heads.
